Our Client:

• Our client are a North American firm providing field service & engineering solutions across the power & energy space.
\n
• They're on the lookout for a relay tech with HV experince to join their team to work with clients across the Southeast.
\n

Key Responsibilities :

\n
• Relay Installation & Commissioning : Install and commission protective relay systems and associated control systems for substations, power plants, and industrial facilities.
\n
• Testing & Calibration : Conduct thorough testing and calibration of protective relays to ensure proper operation and compliance with industry standards.
\n
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics : Identify and troubleshoot faults in relay systems and associated electrical equipment. Resolve issues effectively and in a timely manner.
\n
• Maintenance : Perform regular maintenance on relay systems and other protection devices to ensure peak performance and prevent system failures.
\n
• Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and maintenance activities. Prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory compliance.
\n
• Safety Compliance : Adhere to safety standards and protocols while working in high-voltage environments. Promote a safety-conscious culture.
\n
• Collaboration : Work closely with electrical engineers, field technicians, and other team members to resolve complex issues and ensure system reliability.
\n
• Upgrades & Modifications : Assist in the upgrade and modification of relay systems as needed to meet evolving technological and regulatory requirements
\n

Qualifications :

\n
• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred).
\n
• Relevant certification or training in electrical systems, relay protection, or related areas (e.g., NETA, NICET).
\n
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with protective relays, circuit breakers, and electrical protection systems.
\n
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, protection schemes, and relay operation.
\n
• Experience with testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, relay testers, and multimeters.
\n
• Familiarity with electrical standards and codes (e.g., IEEE, NEC).
\n
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
\n
• Willingness to work in various field environments and under various weather conditions.
\n
